Often, the UN has to react quickly to unforeseen events. This has highlighted the use of planning ahead for those things we can foresee. Since the UN will not always be able to quickly disseminate plan changes in the event of war, UN War Plans are triggered automatically by use of certain code words by UN senior officers.
