Second Treaty of Mars

The Second Treaty of Mars was negotiated between UN Mimean Administrator TildeATH and Iknezstibr Kumar Shrike Soman of the Brotherhood of Free Mars. The treaty was signed on May 20th, 2033 by TildeATH and Soman, forcing the UNEC to acknowledge an alliance between the Brotherhood and the UN. The treaty was nullified with the signing of the Odessa Accords between the UN and the Federation after the First Solar War[1].

The Second Treaty of Mars

In the event that any entity or party external to both the United Nations and Brotherhood of Free Mars formally declares war or initiates unambiguous hostilities against either the United Nations or the Brotherhood of Free Mars, then the signatories are obligated to assist each other in combating this aggressor to the point where either a satisfactory peace treaty can be agreed on or the entity is no longer a credible threat to either signatory.

The signatories are obligated to permit observers from their counterpart's military service to accompany any military unit within a shared theatre of operation larger than a battalion if a ground unit, or 1000 tons if a void asset. These observers will be granted access to unit communications, they will be enabled to communicate with their own chain of command and will be provided for by their host unit. A shared theatre of operation shall be defined as any celestial body plus a radius of 40 million kilometers around it holding military units commanded by both signatories. Any intelligence related to hostile units operating within a shared theatre of operation will be shared between both signatories.

Emigration of Federation colonists from captured territories will not be limited. Those who choose to remain in Brotherhood territory must adopt Free Mars citizenship.

A Federation enclave of no more than 250,000 colonists will be permitted. Re-evaluation of the enclave is scheduled for 10 years after the effective ratification of the treaty.
