Sol, humanity's home star, is a yellow dwarf star similar to Alpha Centauri A and Tau Ceti. The Solar System consists of eight planets, one planetoid, numerous moons, three jump points, and a number of other transient and permanent celestial bodies including asteroids and comets. Of special note is Earth, humanity's home planet.
Three major human factions claim space within the Solar System. The United Nations, Eurasian Federation, and Cornucopia all have extraterrestrial claims within the system. Earth is shared by all human factions. The UN claims Luna, the Jupiter planetary system, Venus, the Klondike-Kagayan jump point, the Roanoke jump point, and a number of asteroids. FEAN claims Mars, the Saturn planetary system, Comet Veazey-Gagarin, the Zhongguo jump point, and a number of asteroids. Cornucopia claims 2 Pallas, an asteroid gifted by the UN.
The three jump points lead to the star systems Klondike-Kagayan, Zhongguo, and Roanoke.
Evidence points to the presence of other space-faring aliens, the Belnar, millions of years before humanity bootstrapped itself into space.
