Eurasian Federation

The Federation of European and Asian Nations, more often referred to as the Eurasian Federation, is the only other major political power on Earth, and as such is the UN's foremost rival. The shortened Chinese reference is 欧亚联盟 (Ouya Lianmeng).

The Federation has its origins in a semiofficial diplomatic and military alliance between Russia, Iran and China, who presented a united front during the Syrian Civil War of 2014. The three sides battled U.N peacekeepers during the short destructive conflict. After the war, Iran was reduced to a junior power and faded from prominence after the country fell into bankruptcy.

After the devastation to the Middle East, India was awarded multiple contract to help rebuild the scared region. This greatly improved the countries economic and political clout in the region as well as in the world.

It was unofficially formed by India, China and Russia in 2021 when they formed a trade and energy based alliance, and later evolved into a supra-national government similar to the UN. Its foremost members are the original three founding countries and the various smaller nations in the founders' spheres of influence. With the prosperity of India and China, and the powerful militarys of the three countries, the Federation was seen as a credible alternative to the U.N, who's power came from many "first world" countries who had traditionally had more power and influence in the old order. Due to past events and political differences, they are locked in a cold war with the UN. Relations between the two powers are cool, with varying fluctuations over the past decade.

While their actual industrial capacity is currently unknown, the Federation was the early leader in TNE-based void exploration, being the first to visit several outer planets and going on a rapid colonization program. However, with the debut of a modernized UN navy, the balance of power between the two factions is roughly equal. Commercially though the Federation possesses the largest void hauling fleets among the two powers, with three powerful state corporations fielding more than twenty five freighters and colony vessels.

Notable Federation holdings in the solar system are their sizable Mars colony and Titan, as well as several mining efforts on the comet Gagarin.
