The United Nations Department of Resources and Logistics (UNRL) was set up in 2034, following the merger of the old UNRA and UNDOT departments. The purpose of UNRL is to effectively manage the UN's mineral resources and transportation fleets, in order to ensure that sufficient minerals are always available to meet the UN's needs and to deliver infrastructure and other associated facilities to colonies as appropriate.

Current Policies

UNRL is mindful of the upcoming Duranium shortage on Earth, and has prepared a white paper on problem. This paper can be read in the UN's staff records here: Duranium Options Paper.

Assets

As the directing agency for the UN's void based commercial efforts, UNRL possesses a sizable array of freighters, colony ships, support and logistics vessels, and surveyors.
