Geography

The stellar primary is a G6-V class star, a yellow main sequence dwarf somewhat like the sun. While it has the same diameter as the sun, its mass is only 92% of Sol's, and its luminosity only 78%. The system is sparse, with only two planets.

The inner planet, named Dogmatix, orbiting at 12.7m km and taking only 9.3 Earth days to complete and orbit, is a small terrestrial body. Its proximity to the system's star means that its surface temperature is over 700°C. UNGS planetologists assert that is likely similar in composition to Mercury.

The outer planet, named Obelix, is a Saturn-sized gas giant orbiting at 40m km. This is still rather close to the star, and the atmosphere temperature at the 1 atm isobar is 189°C, well over the boiling point of water. Due to the tremendous incoming radiant energy, the atmosphere is in a constant state of hyperactivity, with massive storm systems and turbulent cloud mixing bands. The proximity to the star has also likely caused enough gravitational perturbation to remove any moons the planet may once have had.
