War Plan Gold

War Plan Gold is the worst case scenario for a "Case Zulu" - full scale invasion of Sol by the advanced species known as the Kaavi or THE MIND. The primary and secondary points of defense for Sol would be centered on the Roanoke Jump Point, and the Earth-Luna system.

Operation PORTCULLIS

PORTCULLIS will be initiated upon outbreak of hostilies against the Kaavi. Units already in the trans-Roanoke systems will make an attempt to slow and distract Kaavi formations while Sol defenses are prepared. Priority is given to targetting Kaavi gate and jump ships, and survey craft may be expended in an effort to draw Kaavi formations away from the Sol Jump Point.

At the same time, PALISADE, RAMPART, BATTLEMENT and support craft will depart for the Roanoke Jump Point, merged with Federation Navy formations per the Sol Mututal Defense Agreement. PALISADE and RAMPART will deploy at 15 million km sunward of the point with actives on, BATTLEMENT will deploy at 35 million km. Upon enemy transit, all efforts will be made to contain them at the jump point, with FLETCHER ferrying additional ordnance as required.

Should the Kaavi forces break the cordon, PALISADE will act as a screening force while RAMPART and BATTLEMENT fall back towards the inner solar system.

Operation BARBICAN

BARBICAN is the retreat into the inner system. PDCs will be brought online, and all outsystem strategic assets evacuated back to the Earth-Luna system. If possible, evacuation of civilians and industrial assets through K2 will be made a priority, with PALISADE and RAMPART attempting to hold open the Earth-K2 DDL as long as feasible without giving away the K2 jump network.

As a final step, all remaining fleet asset will withdraw to Earth and link their defense with the System PDCs.

Operation OUBLIETTE

OUBLIETTE is the final worst case scenario for defense of Earth against hostile invader. All ordnance and ships should be expended in defense of the homeworld prior to allowing the population to be exposed to alien attack.

Should War Plan Gold reach OUBLIETTE stage, any assets previously withdrawn under BARBICAN may constitute all that remains of humanity.
