Mayflower
The Mayflower class Colony Ship is the proposed next generation colony ship for the United Nations Merchant Marine and McKiernan Transport Corporation.
Background
On December 1st 2030, Dr. Slaan completed research into Nuclear Pulse Drive Engine Technology. The Result was the opening of a new theoretical field for transportation drives. Later that year, Slaan would once again prove his genius by thoroughly testing the Pratt & Whitney 40000M-E100 Nuclear Pulse Engine, a robust design that would later be incorporated into Project Valkyrie.
With proof such an engine was feasible, Rolls Royce set about creating a workable design for civilian use. In close cooperation with Slaan, they quickly created and thoroughly tested the prototype before testing concluded on January 2nd 2031. With Slaan's seal of approval, the Rolls-Royce Centurion Series was authorized for use.
Similar to the York, the Ascendancy class colony vessel had been a powerful workhorse for early United Nation's expansion. However, like the York is still suffered flaws. Small hull limitations meant it carried fewer engines and had a small transportation capacity for colonists, capable of only carrying thirty thousand individuals. Thanks to advancements in hull construction and component manufacturing, the Mayflower is four times as big as the Ascendancy and is capable of carrying nearly three times as many colonists as the Ascendancy while being capable of speeds three times as fast.
