Operation Labyrinth

Operation LABYRINTH is the UNIN codename for the campaign to pacify the Klondike-Kagayan system. Since UNIN is currently awaiting completion of research and training, LABYRINTH is still in the early planning stages.

Asteroid 151 is close to the K2 JP and may be used for an ordnance depot. (BACARDI)

Objective

The objective of LABYRINTH is the destruction or incapacitation of the 4 alien Hoplite class ships (Code Name MINOTAUR) in orbit of Klondike VI (Code Name KNOSSOS) and securing the planet to search for alien installations or other defenses.

Operation

LABYRINTH will begin upon completion of the necessary ordnance and ships, and as the K2->Sol Jump Gate nears completion. TG ARISTARCHUS will close with KNOSSOS to verify location of MINOTAUR and remain on station as an observer. TG THESEUS and TG ARIADNE will transit in system and approach KNOSSOS from the jump point to move into a trailing orbit at approximately 80m km. THESEUS will then seed close planetary orbit with self guided drone missiles. Once the TG has exhausted their remote missiles, TG ARIADNE will reload the task group from its magazines and withdraw to Sol. TG THESEUS will then close to maximum active range and engage remaining targets as they approach.

Once all enemy vessels are mission killed, TG ATHENIAN will enter KNOSSOS orbit and perform a geo-scan of the surface. In the event that alien ruins or remnant defenses exist, UN Mobile Infantry will land to secure the site until specialists can arrive. At this point LABYRINTH can be declared complete by transmission of the signal WHITE SAILS.

Should THESEUS fail to inflict sufficient observed damage with initial bombardment, the operation will hold until additional remote ordnance can be delivered and deployed. In the unlikely event that MINOTAUR closes with and destroys THESEUS, the code BLACK SAILS will signal the termination of jump gate construction and withdrawal from Klondike-Kagayan.
