Sanya Volkov

Sanya Volkov is a former civil administrator and current Federation President, replacing Ivano Tretyakov[1].

History

Sergei "Sanya" Volkov (age 22) was born in Magnitogorsk on January 24th, 2011, to a Russian professional hockey player and a school teacher. Still a child during the Syrian War, Volkov's family moved to Moscow in 2018 in order to enroll the precocious young Sanya in a private academy.

Volkov was regularly at the head of his class, graduating with highest honors in 2026 and immediately entering the Federation's Academy of Science and Industry. By his sophomore year, Volkov was fluent in four languages and understood three more. His innovative work includes some of the first Federation experiments with void propulsion.

Volkov spent 2031 with a research team at the Belnar Ruin site, engrossing himself in the artifacts. His colleagues during this time recall him as "insightful," and "a born leader," with a deep interest in astronomy and its presence within the Belnar milieu.

In 2032, Volkov transferred from the Academy of Science and Industry to the Academy of Diplomacy and Politics, finalizing his dissertation (Belnar Use of TNEs and What We May Learn) and graduating (again with honors) in early 2033. He was immediately assigned to the governorship of the important Federation mining colony on Comet Veazey-Gagarin, spending a year growing accustomed to colonial administration before being recalled under mysterious circumstances in late March 2034. The Federation then made a surprise announcement that this 22-year-old was the new Federation Governor of Earth, replacing ousted triumvir Ivano Tretyakov, who took up Volkov's old position on Veazey-Gagarin.
